Senior Loss Mitigation Specialist
General Job Summary The Senior Loss Mitigation Specialist is responsible for minimizing foreclosures which includes but is not limited to debt counseling, ensuring loss mitigation financial packages are reviewed timely and properly while complying with investor and insurer regulations, possessing a comprehensive understanding of agency and other investor guidelines, all mortgage legal documents and compliance issues. Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Review financial packages for completeness.
 - Process workouts based on GSE/FHA/USDA/VA/FHLB/GNMA guidelines.
 - Determine if the applicant qualifies to assume liability based on a credit review.
 - Manually underwrite all loan types in accordance with investor guidelines.
 - Communicate with customers, financial institutions, insurers, and secondary market investors to strategize workout programs.
 - Ensure all federal, state and investor regulations and requirements are adhered to for underwriting review and decision.
 - Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, including but not limited to compliance and operational risk.
 - Ensure compliance with timing of underwriting decisions, to be completed within 30 days of receipt of completed application.
 - Counsel delinquent customers and attend via phone periodic mitigation meetings with attorneys.
 - Complete OFAC and other exclusionary checks on approved files to ensure compliance when required by the agency, investor, or insurer.
 - Complete updates in FHA Connection, SMDU, FHLMC Resolve, USDA-LINC, VA Valeri, FHLB eMAQCS, as required by each agency.
 - Work with other departments to ensure appropriate changes to the system, application of payments, foreclosure holds/cancellations as appropriate.
 - Work with State Assistance and Hardest Hit Programs.
 - Monitor codes and comments in the ICE's MSP and LoanSphere.
 - Maintain servicing system with appropriate codes and notes in the ICE's MSP and LoanSphere .
 - Maintain accuracy in payments posted to loans in loss mitigation process.
 
Other Job Functions
- Attending all training sessions for department.
 - Monitor changes in investor guidelines and update policies and procedures accordingly.
 - All other duties as assigned by management.
 
Education, Training and Work Experience
- High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
 - Previous 3-5 years loss mitigation underwriting experience required.
 - Previous 3-5 years' experience in collections and/or default servicing required.
 - Recent experience with ICE's MSP and Loss Mitigation LoanSphere required.

- Maintain & foster positive relationships with customers and business partners.
 - Complete all assigned training in a timely manner.
 - Provide professional communication in both oral & written expression.
 - Excellent organizational, time management & analytical skills.
 - Organizational skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
 - Ability to manage confidential information.
 - Strong analytical skills, with the ability to seek out and offer business-oriented solutions.
 - High degree of dependability
 
Working Environment Primary working environment is within an indoor climate-controlled office space and/or a private home office or some combination which will be at managements sole discretion. Employee may be subject to florescent lighting, dust, and other normal indoor allergens. Employee may work in close proximity of coworkers and occasionally independently in quiet environments. Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 20 pounds
 - Extended periods of sitting (at computer desk)
 - Complete repetitive tasks (including operation of computer mouse/keyboard)
