Responsibilities:Job Summary:
The Senior Specialist, Medical Education Events leads the planning, coordination, and continuous improvement of Marketing and Medical Education events for cardiovascular healthcare professionals across the Americas. This role ensures high-quality, compliant, and impactful event execution that supports Cordis’ medical education and commercial objectives. Partnering closely with Medical Education, Scientific Communications, and Commercial teams, this individual manages the full event lifecycle, from planning through post-event insights, while driving operational excellence, compliance, along with optimizing platform integration, and providing a best-in-class attendee experience.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end execution of in-person and virtual medical education events, ensuring programs meet strategic, educational, and compliance objectives.
- Manage timelines, budgets, vendors, and logistics to deliver high-quality, customer-focused events on schedule and within scope.
- Serve as the primary liaison for healthcare professionals (HCPs) and internal partners, maintaining proactive communication and ensuring an exceptional participant experience.
- Collaborate with Medical Education, Scientific Communications, Product Marketing, and Compliance to align content, target audiences, and event goals.
- Oversee the configuration and optimization of event management platforms (e.g., Cvent) to streamline registration, communications, and post-event reporting.
- Manage HCP contract administration, vendor agreements, and expense reconciliation in accordance with federal reporting and Cordis compliance policies.
- Coordinate program materials, speaker logistics, and onsite support to ensure seamless delivery and operational accuracy.
- Collect and analyze event data and participant feedback to measure impact, identify improvement opportunities, and guide future programming.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and budget records to ensure transparency, audit readiness, and continuous process improvement.
- Support innovation in medical education operations by identifying tools or processes that enhance efficiency and scalability
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in event management, project management or related field. Proven experience coordinating physician educational events in a corporate setting is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in event management, healthcare, marketing, business or related field required.
- Combined education and experience will be considered.
Qualifications:
- Proven expertise in end-to-end event management and vendor negotiation for multi-city programs.
- Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder partnership skills.
- Ability to travel domestically, estimated up to 50% travel.
Expected Areas of Competencies:
- Proven ability to develop and implement operational systems, processes, and tools in settings with minimal existing structure, ensuring scalability and alignment with business objectives.
- Strong project and program management skills with the ability to oversee multiple concurrent events, align stakeholders, and meet tight deadlines.
- Skilled at leading through ambiguity and championing change; able to navigate evolving priorities with a solutions-oriented mindset and proactive communication.
- Strategic problem-solving capabilities with high attention to detail; able to identify risks, implement contingency plans, and optimize workflows under pressure.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management systems (e.g., Cvent); able to configure tools for efficiency and scalability.
- Professional presence and customer-service mindset; able to effectively engage with healthcare professionals, commercial teams, and senior internal stakeholders.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence across functions and drive alignment.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements in regulated healthcare environments, with a focus on operational integrity and audit-readiness.
