Catering & Events Assistant/Intern

Exciting Seasonal opportunity at Wellington International during our Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL. Seeking a customer service-oriented Catering Assistant to join our Catering & Events Department for the Season (November 2025 thru May 2026).
Position Overview:The Seasonal Catering/Events Assistant will support the planning, coordination, and execution of catering functions and special events. This role provides hands-on experience in event logistics, client service, and hospitality operations. The Assistant will assist with both administrative tasks and on-site event support to ensure seamless experiences for clients and guests. Candidate must be available and flexible to work 40 hours a week on-site, weekends included, no remote work. Must be able to commute to the work site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with event planning logistics, including timelines, menus, décor, rentals, and vendor coordination.
 - Support day-of-event operations such as setup, guest check-in, service coordination, and breakdown.
 - Conduct research on venues, vendors, and event trends as needed.
 - Prepare and update event documents, including proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders (BEOs).
 - Assist with inventory tracking of catering supplies, linens, and equipment.
 - Provide administrative support such as filing, scheduling, and maintaining client databases.
 - Collaborate with team members to ensure events run smoothly and meet client expectations.
 - Represent the organization professionally with clients, vendors, and guests.
 
 Qualifications: 
- High School Diploma is a must.
 - Currently enrolled in (or recent graduate of) Hospitality Management, Event Planning, Communications, or related field, preferred.
 - Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
 - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
 - Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for events
 - Seasonal position from November 2025 - May 2026
 - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
 - Positive attitude, team-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
