(Metal) Welder

Shift: Monday through Friday; 1st shift; Hours TBD
Pay Rate: $17 to $20/hr. depending on experience
Experience: 2+ Years

Job Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements
• Select appropriate welding equipment and materials based on project needs
• Set up welding equipment and adjust controls as necessary
• Perform various types of welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding
• Join metal components using heat and chemical bonding processes
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments
• Inspect and test welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws
• Maintain equipment and perform minor repairs when needed
• Follow all safety procedures and wear protective equipment as required
• Clean and prepare work areas, tools, and materials
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used

Skills Required:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in welding, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
• Knowledge of safety practices and procedures in welding operations
• Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment and materials
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new welding technologies and methods
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
• Flexibility to work overtime or different shifts as needed
