Accounts Payable Clerk
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
To review and process all invoices, bills and expenses for all Board of County Commission departments in compliance with the Board's purchasing policy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and process invoices, bills and expenses in compliance Governmental Accounting Standards and with adherence to the Board of County Commissioners purchasing policy. Understand and verify cost centers, spend categories, supplier information, goods and services and have a general knowledge of County projects.
- Communicate and maintain relationships with County Departments and Suppliers.
- Answer telephone, return voicemails and emails, and distribute mail in a timely, proficient and professional manner.
- Analyze workflow processes.
- Perform other related functions as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Education:
Candidate must possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. A two year Associates Degree is preferred but is not required for this position.
Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years financial record keeping experience. Accounts Payable experience in a high volume office preferred.
- Basic knowledge of accounting.
- Must be able to meet and interact with others in situations that require tact, discretion and courtesy.
- Must be adaptable to change.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including MS Word, PowerPoint, MS Excel, and Outlook.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be substituted at the Clerk’s discretion.
Licenses/Certificates:
A valid Florida Driver's License or Florida Identification is required for the hiring process.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 5 - 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 40 Hours per week between the hours of 7:30am and 5pm in accordance with pre-approved work schedule within department.

Criminal Background Checks
All employees of the Clerk's office are required to have their fingerprints scanned as part of the hiring process so that a criminal background check can be performed. All employment shall remain probationary at least until the background is cleared. Because it is necessary for all Clerk’s office employees to be bonded, any criminal background check results that reveal a finding of guilt by a court or jury, an admission of guilt or no contest in any criminal matter regardless of adjudication may result in termination even after probationary time is completed.
Employment with the Clerk's office is a statutorily appointed position and serves at the will and pleasure of the elected Clerk of Court.
