Salary: $25.00 to $27.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)
THIS IS NOT A TELEWORK POSITION. CANDIDATE WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK IN THE TALLAHASSEE OFFICE.
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week.
Regular business hours of operation are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST, Monday - Friday.
****As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.****
THE HIRED CANDIDATE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING
- Conducts technical evaluations of environmental reviews submitted for compliance with National Environmental Program Act (NEPA) and other federal and state regulatory requirements.
- Supports Disaster Recovery reconstruction efforts focusing on the processing environmental reports.
- Proficiently documents and tracks status of numerous concurrent projects.
- Works with multiple internal agency programs and the grant managers of those programs.
- Consults with local, state, and federal offices, including tribal councils, as needed, to ensure environmental reviews meet all compliance standards and required time frames.
- Provides technical assistance to local governments and their consultants in the employee’s assigned area of expertise.
- Works with grant recipients to resolve deficiencies in the environmental review process.
- Participates in the development and implementation of training workshops and webinars for local governments and their consultants.
- Participates in conferences, workshops, seminars, training sessions and similar activities relevant to the program and environmental reviews.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge in Microsoft Office Systems such as Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat.
PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO THOSE APPLICANTS THAT HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Sciences, Biology, or a similar degree program.
- Knowledge of federal and state environmental requirements and regulations.
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour (Depending on experience)

The Work You Will Do:
The OPS Government Operations Consultant II, is located in the Department of Economic Opportunity, Office of Long-Term Resiliency, Environmental Team. The incumbent will work with multiple internal agency programs and the grant managers of those programs. Consults with local, state, and federal offices, including tribal councils, as needed, to ensure environmental reviews meet all compliance standards and required time frames.
