Florida Crystals is a leading domestic sugar producer and North America’s first fully integrated cane sugar company, guiding our sugar from farm to table. We are America’s first and only producer of certified organic sugar, grown and harvested in the United States. Our renewable energy facility is the largest of its kind in North America and provides clean energy that powers our sugar operations, which helps us reduce our use of fossil fuels. Florida Crystals also sustainably farms rice, sweet corn and other vegetables in rotation with our sugarcane. Our rice mill is the only rice mill in Florida.

OVERVIEW

The utilities perform a variety of tasks within a manufacturing environment. The main duties of the utilities include ensuring his or her assigned area is clean at all times. This is a union general labor position. Utilities will rotate through various positions such as housekeeping, box makers, labeling, scrapper etc.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sweep and mop floors
• Packing the different products into the relevant areas
• Runs errands, picks up supplies and materials
• Reporting to the supervisor on any anomalies in the packaging plant
• Cleaning up after work or in case of any spills
• Performing any other job-related tasks issued
• Required to attend monthly training about safety, operations and Food Quality
• Transfer supplies received to their appropriate storage location area

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be comfortable climbing up ladders, working at elevated levels
• Positive attitude and work ethic
• Able to work independently or as an active member of a team
• Valid Driver’s License
• Willingness to perform repetitive tasks

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• High school degree or equivalent educational experience
• Ability to work any shift; must be able to work long hours, rotational shifts including weekends and holidays
• Must meet hiring eligibility requirements including background investigation and drug screen
• Must wear all required personal protective equipment
