Job Description:

The Associate Director manages the application, admission, and enrollment processes for the College of Law's LL.M., S.J.D., and other non-J.D. programs; coordinates select student-focused and academic events; assists non-J.D. students with a variety of academic and administrative needs; and supports prospective students as they navigate the application and enrollment process. Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean and Chief of Staff and working closely with the Associate Dean and Director of the Graduate Tax Program, this position provides administrative oversight and strategic direction for admissions and enrollment functions within the College of Law's non-J.D. programs.

The Associate Director leads the development, implementation, assessment, and continuous improvement of policies, processes, and services that support recruitment, admissions, enrollment, and student success objectives. The position evaluates enrollment trends and assesses the effectiveness of admissions and enrollment strategies to inform decision-making, support program goals, and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

The Associate Director establishes performance goals and success metrics and leads the development and implementation of operational and programmatic enhancements. This position exercises independent judgment in managing complex admissions and enrollment matters and provides data-informed recommendations to support the continued success and strategic growth of the College's non-J.D. programs.

Essential Functions

Provide strategic leadership in support of UF Law's recruitment, admissions, and enrollment objectives for the LL.M., S.J.D., and other non-J.D. programs. Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean and Chief of Staff and working closely with the Associate Dean and Director of the Graduate Tax Program, while partnering with the Admissions Office and other university stakeholders, this position assists in the development, implementation, and assessment of strategic enrollment initiatives that support program growth and institutional priorities. Utilizing Unite Education, PeopleSoft, Excel, and other systems. This vital position develops, designs, and enhances data analysis tools (reports and queries) to support enrollment management, operational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.

Provide leadership and strategic support to the Associate Dean and Director of the Graduate Tax Program in the planning, implementation, and assessment of select academic, professional, and student engagement initiatives. Lead the coordination and execution of student-facing academic and community-building events that support recruitment, enrollment, student success, retention, and program visibility. Collaborate with faculty, administrators, students, alumni, and external stakeholders to develop and enhance programming aligned with program objectives, evaluate outcomes and participant feedback, and recommend improvements to strengthen engagement and the overall student experience.

Facilitate conversion of admitted non-JD applicants to enrolled students. Coordinate with the University of Florida Registrar and IT Offices, and LSAC staff, as needed to maintain data integrity; identify and implement policy and process revisions to streamline application management and processing. Drafts and revises application instructions, applicant communications, and related admissions materials to ensure accuracy, and alignment with program and institutional goals.

Advising prospective non-J.D. and international students. Provide information about UF Levin College of Law programs to prospective LL.M., and S.J.D. students. Manages the end-to-end admissions business and data processes from prospect cultivation through enrollment, evaluating admissions trends and outcomes to inform planning and decision-making.

Provide direct supervision, leadership, and strategic direction for assigned staff. Establish performance expectations and assessment measures; evaluate outcomes; support employee development; and foster a collaborative work environment. Guide staff in the interpretation and application of admissions policies and procedures and ensure alignment with college’s priorities.

Provide other programming support and duties as assigned. Support the goals and objectives of the University and College of Law through support of programs for non-J.D. students throughout the year.

Expected Salary:

$95,000 maximum; Commensurate with experience

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience.

Preferred:

  • Experience with law school admissions software and processes.
  • J.D degree
  • Proficiency in one or more foreign languages, especially Spanish, Chinese, or Portuguese
  • Understanding of the legal, educational, and cultural norms of the U.S., Latin America, Asia, or other international student markets
  • Understanding of UF and other admissions CRMs, including Unite
  • Experience managing administrative aspects of graduate academic programs
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to interact professionally with a wide range of internal and external constituencies
  • Ability to project a positive image of the University of Florida and the Levin College of Law
