Assistant Superintendent
Job Description: Assistant Superintendent - Ground-up Apartments
Position Overview: As an Assistant Superintendent for Ground-up Apartments, you will be responsible for supporting the overall construction process of multi-family apartment projects. You will work closely with the Superintendent to ensure that all aspects of the project are completed on time and within budget, while maintaining a high level of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Superintendent in overseeing the construction process from start to finish, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
- Coordinate and communicate with subcontractors, vendors, and other team members to ensure timely and efficient completion of project tasks.
- Review project plans and specifications to identify potential issues and provide solutions.
- Maintain a safe and organized job site, ensuring that all workers adhere to safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues that may arise.
- Track and report project progress to the Superintendent, providing updates on timelines, budget, and any other relevant information.
- Assist with the procurement of materials and equipment needed for the project.
- Train and supervise construction crew members and provide guidance and support as needed.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in construction, preferably in multi-family or commercial projects.
- Prior experience as an Assistant Superintendent is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and understand project plans and specifications.
- Experience with stick frame, wood frame, metal frame, and/or steel frame construction is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with a diverse team of professionals.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
