**Job Description:**

+ Up $10K Sign on Bonus (if eligible)

+ Participates in peer interviewing and review processes.

+ Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.

+ Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health and unit-specific data for process improvement initiatives.

+ Conducts initial patient assessments within expected timeframes, initiates consults as indicated, and identifies patient/family teaching and discharge planning needs.

+ Maintains safe practices by demonstrating unit-specific clinical competency and compliance with all regulatory standards.

+ Ensures safe and effective handoff communications and documentation between caregivers.

+ Communicates courteously with internal and external customers in person or on the telephone.

+ Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.

+ Participates in hourly rounding using the Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, and Thank You (AIDET) technique to improve patient outcomes. Incorporates Caring Model behaviors and culturally competent care into daily practice.

+ Adheres to organizational standards for dress and professional appearance. Collaborates and demonstrates teamwork in managing patient flow, promoting timely patient placement by following hospital policy for admission, discharge, and transfer.

+ Other duties as assigned.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**

- Proficient clinical critical care skills and critical thinking skills with strong communication skills required.

- Basic computer skills and commitment to hourly patient rounding required.

- Previous EKG Interpretation Class preferred.

- Must possess frequent independent judgment and the ability to handle clinical situations requiring sound professional judgment and critical-thinking skills, including clinical assessment, data analysis, and patient response.

- Responsible for providing quality patient care and continuously prioritizing multiple duties.

- Ability to function calmly and professionally during stressful situations.

- Utilization of assessment, reassessment, and critical-thinking skills in dealing with changes in patient outcomes.

- General knowledge of professional nursing principles and techniques, as well as the pharmacological process in the appropriate administration or delivery of medications.

- Skill to maintain effective working relationships with health professionals and others to foster an environment conducive to carrying out the mission of the facility.

- Skill to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, to direct the overall professional nursing services in a manner that encourages the open exchange of ideas and information. xrczosw

- Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

**Work Experience:**

- 1+ years acute care experience [Preferred]

**Licenses and Certifications:**

- Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]

- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) Preferred]

- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Preferred]

- Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) [Preferred]
