As one of the primary points of contact for our department, our Senior Clerks play a crucial role in ensuring that individuals receive the care and support they need.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist visitors with warmth and professionalism as they arrive at the health department.
• Answer incoming calls promptly and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member.
• Schedule appointments for OB clients using our Electronic Health System.
• Verify insurance coverage and assist clients with insurance-related inquiries and screening for the Sliding Fee Discount Program.
• Collaborate closely with other staff members to ensure seamless coordination of OB services.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including MS Outlook, WORD, and EXCEL
• Able to change easily from one task to another
• Relate well to people from varied backgrounds and different situations
• Manages a variety of responsibilities in a timely, efficient manner and able to prioritize tasks

Qualifications:

Minimum –

• Valid driver’s license
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Obtain Incident Command System (ICS-100) certification within 60 days and National Incident Management System (IS-700) certification within 90 days of employment
• Complete the Family Planning Title X mandatory trainings within 30 days of employment

Preferred –

• Experience working in a clinical setting
• Experience verifying insurance coverages
• English/Spanish or English/Portuguese bilingual
