Host/Hostess
Maintaining the flow of the dining room by greeting and seating the Addison Reserve membership and guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet members and guests with confidence and assurance that each visit to the restaurant will be a complete satisfaction.
- Greet members by proper name announcement
- Escorts members and guests to their table, provides menus to them once seated, and informs guests of name of their assigned server
- Monitor reservations and phone calls.
- Keep abreast of all club events, (dining and special events & parties), and disseminate this information to members and guests. Present the information in a positive manner so as to promote the events.
- Keep the kitchen informed about reservations and parties, (increases/decreases in size). Find out about specials: soup du jour, desserts & special entrees.
- Keep all menus organized, clean and up-do-date. Change out menus for special events. (Lunch menus/dinner menus, etc.)
- Maintain a balance in the room at all times, including: music, air conditioning, noise levels, etc.
- Assigns service stations to all servers and bus persons.
- Informs service personnel of daily menu changes and specials, and other matters affecting dining room operations.
- Supervises the operation of the dining room during meal service periods adjusting patron seating flow in such manner as to balance customers among the various service stations.
- Manages special seating requests of guests consistent with table availability.
- Relays messages to servers and bus persons as appropriate.
- Assists with the duties of servers and bus persons needed to maintain service effectiveness and efficiency.
- Perform cleanup and closing duties as assigned by manager
- Attend all pre-meal meetings when scheduled
- Report to management any needed repairs immediately following discovery
- Room set-up including moving & arranging furniture to accommodate members and special events when needed
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
- Act, dress, and behave in a professional manner to reflect a positive image of The Addison Reserve Country Club.
- Requires good organizational skills
- Must be able to multi-task and think quickly.
- Ability to communicate well orally and in writing.
- Ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions.
- Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with the membership, guests, management and coworkers
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with many interruptions.
- Working efficiently in a stressful environment.
- Ability to work long and unusual hours when necessary.
- Must enjoy working with the public, members and their guest’s
- Sound understanding of a leading POS system.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule which may include weekends and holidays
- Must have knowledge in safety and accident avoidance.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time (6+ hours)
- Must be able to lift more than 10lbs
- May be required to work outdoors during varying degrees and weather
- One year experience working for an upscale establishment
- Minimum of one year experience dealing with the public.
