Your role

Provide the engineering expertise necessary to operate the plant’s production units in a safe, efficient, profitable and legal fashion. Provide the support necessary to troubleshoot production problems, initiate and aid production in process improvements, initiate capital projects, and ensure the production units comply with regulatory authorities.

A. Support production in daily operation of its production units. These duties include troubleshooting daily production problems, analyzing production units for process improvements, maintaining engineering documentation, and providing good engineering guidance for optimizing the operation of the production unit’s.

B. Prepare capital projects and the engineering necessary to complete the design. Ensure that all disciplines involved in the capital project are properly informed with the data they require and directed to what their requirements for the project are. Serve as Project Manager for the project, ensuring the project is kept on schedule, inside budget, within scope, completed safely, performs to specification, and complies with plant, engineering and government standards like OSHA, PSM, ASME, cGMP, ISO 9000, EPA, DEHC, and FDA.

C. Support Maintenance in analyzing causes of failures and incidents in the production units. Propose improvements in materials of construction and equipment design in order to reduce or eliminate equipment failures.

D. Assist the Compliance Manager and Production Managers in ensuring that the plant is compliant with all local, state and federal regulations. These duties include but are not limited to performing pressure safety reviews, emission calculations, HAZOP participation, PSM calculations, and other regulatory compliance issues.

About you

Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

BS degree in Chemical Engineering with two years of experience working in the chemical process industry or equivalent in education, training, and experience.

Skills & Abilities:

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Must have excellent verbal and writing communication skills.
Must be able to work well within cross-functional teams, but at the same time be able to work independently and remain self-motivated to complete tasks.
Must have good organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and keep on schedule.
