Staff Accountant

TEL Staffing is now hiring a Full Time, Temp to Permanent Staff Accountant for a manufacturing facility in Crestview, FL!

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to support our Finance team by managing key subledger accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Prepaid Expenses . This role ensures the integrity and accuracy of financial records and supports the monthly close process, account reconciliations, and audit activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain and reconcile subledgers for AP , AR , and Prepaids to the general ledger.
• Process, review, and post invoices, payments, and journal entries in accordance with company policies and GAAP.
• Ensure timely recording of prepaid expenses and systematically allocate them through monthly amortization.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in AP and AR.
• Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities, including accruals and adjusting entries.
• Prepare and analyze account reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts.
• Support internal and external audit requests by providing documentation and explanations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate recording and timely processing of financial transactions.
• Identify and implement process improvements for subledger operations and reporting.
• Maintain proper documentation and support compliance with internal controls.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with subledger responsibilities.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and basic accounting principles.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Epicor or QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Experience with monthly close processes.
• Familiarity with prepaid expense amortization schedules.
• Knowledge of internal controls and audit requirements.
