Description

The PERS Annuitant position is assigned as a Professional Services Specialist in the Police Department. This role involves assisting with various programs and services. The position is temporary and part-time, with hours up to an average of 20 hours a week that may not exceed 960 hours in the fiscal year.

Examples of Job Duties:

Provide support in police officer recruitment, including communicating with applicants and coordinating with the Human Resources Department to facilitate an efficient and seamless hiring process.

Benefits

As a PERS retired annuitant, this position will adhere to the following CalPERS guidelines:

1. This position does not accrue any service credit or additional retirement rights or benefits.

1. Without exception, a maximum of 960 hours can be worked within a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). Nonpaid or volunteer hours cannot be used to exceed 960 hours in a fiscal year.

1. This position is not paid any other compensation or benefits in addition to the hourly pay rate.
