Director of Nursing Emergency Room

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to oversee the administrative and clinical operations of Emergency Room Patient Care Services. The ideal candidate will ensure delivery of high-quality, cost-effective patient care while maintaining compliance with hospital, state, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical and administrative operations of Emergency Department nursing services
• Develop and implement patient care policies, procedures, and service line programs
• Ensure compliance with hospital, state licensing, Joint Commission, and regulatory standards
• Lead emergency management and disaster preparedness programs
• Foster a professional nursing environment and staff development culture
• Monitor and improve patient care quality and outcomes
• Develop strategies to support patient volume growth and service efficiency
• Ensure effective staffing, budgeting, and operational performance

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Minimum 2 years of healthcare management experience
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room clinical experience
• Current certifications required:
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • PALS (AHA)
  • CPI (within 30 days of hire)
  • TNCC (within 180 days of hire)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (within 60 days of hire)
• Strong leadership and team management experience
• Ability to oversee complex clinical operations and emergency preparedness programs

Screening Requirement

• Must have at least 2 years of leadership experience in an Emergency Room setting
