Staff Accountant

Job Summary
Staff accountant performs duties related to the preparation and maintenance of numerous financial reports; general ledger coding; documentation and maintenance of Company process narratives; cash processing controls and procedures;

Duties and responsibilities

• Prepare standard monthly journal entries for multiple entities
• Complete monthly bank account and balance sheet reconciliations as assigned
• Assist with preparation of Quarterly and Annual Statements
• Obtain all required approvals to ensure compliance with the company’s policies and internal controls
• Document and maintain Company process narratives
• Document cash processing controls and procedures
• Prepare assigned audit work papers
• Research and summarize accounting guidance to determine applicability to the Company
• Assist other team members in the performance of their assignments and the overall goal of timely and efficient month end closings
• Special projects and other duties as assigned

Essential Functions

• Ability to use computer and accounting systems to perform daily job duties
• Ability to interpret, file, and organize financial reports and data
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and account/ledger balancing
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with outside clients

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• CPA strongly preferred, or plans to sit for the CPA exam
• 1 - 2 years of Accounting experience
• Desire to learn as much as possible and work in a high growth dynamic environment
• Proactive forward thinker with the ability to prioritize and contribute ideas to the team

Working C onditions
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
