BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECH- FORENSIC TREATMENT PROGRAM

JOB OVERVIEW 

Provides direct, compassionate, and empathetic care to individuals served with behavioral health needs which include observing and monitoring individuals’ served behavior; supporting individuals served with activities within the program; supporting other staff to ensure individuals served participate in prescribed treatment and activities, leading activity groups and community meetings, admitting and orienting individuals served to the program and assuring all program tasks are completed properly.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Partner with team members to de-escalate individuals’ served behaviors.
• Supporting individuals served in achieving optimal wellness in a therapeutic environment.
• Maintain the safety and security of the program by observing individuals’ served behavior and through detailed screenings and searches.
• Accurate and timely completion of required chart documentation
• Provide appropriate nutrition based on individuals' served dietary needs.

EMPLOYMENT ENVIRONMENT AND TASKS:

• A secure facility that provides an inpatient treatment program for those experiencing a mental health emergency needing 24-hour care in a safe supportive environment.
• Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds of dead weight alone.
• May be required to stand for an extended period and/or for the entire work shift.
• Maintains confidentiality and remains calm under stressful situations.
• Managing and organizing the continuous workflow of the unit and workspace including the cleanliness of the environment.
• Inpatient behavioral health care setting. Fast-paced team approach. Multi-tasking. Requires above-average time management skills.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a High school Diploma or GED
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs of dead weight
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills
