Title: Lead Product Manager

Location: San Carlos, CA - Full-time, On-site

Company Background:

Rapidly growing Series A public safety hardware and software startup. Their mission is to revolutionize public safety through innovative technology solutions that combine cutting-edge hardware with intelligent software systems. This role will report directly to the CTO/Co-founder. This is a high-ownership role that requires someone who can drive product strategy and execution across hardware and software offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and execute product roadmap for hardware and software components, ensuring alignment with business objectives
• Serve as the strategic bridge between engineering and go-to-market teams, driving seamless collaboration across all product initiatives
• Own the entire product lifecycle from conception through launch and iteration, making critical decisions that shape the company's future
• Work closely with engineering teams to bring innovative solutions to market while collaborating with GTM teams to ensure product-market fit
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and inform product strategy
• Manage product requirements, prioritization, and feature development in a fast-paced startup environment
• Lead product launches and go-to-market strategies to ensure successful market entry

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 years of product management or product ownership experience
• Proven experience at a hardware-focused startup (SaaS-only experience is not sufficient)
• Public safety or govtech experience strongly preferred
• Track record of successfully launching and scaling hardware products
• Experience working directly with engineering teams on complex technical products

Technical Competencies:

• Strong technical aptitude with ability to understand complex hardware and software systems
• Experience with product development processes for hardware products
• Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance considerations in public safety markets

Leadership & Collaboration:

• Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with engineering and go-to-market teams
• Proven ability to drive product strategy and make data-driven decisions
• Strong ownership mentality with ability to work independently and drive results
• Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships
