Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU position in Florida, requiring a minimum of 3 years of critical care experience and active FL or Compact RN license.

Details

• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• CVICU unit within a hospital setting, focused on open heart and cardiac-specific care
• Patient ratio of 2:1
• Float requirement on an as-needed basis
• Holiday coverage required on an as-needed basis
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are considered

Requirements

• Active FL or Compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications via AHA required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 3 years of recent critical care experience with acute and/or chronically ill patients
• CVICU-specific experience required
• Open heart and cardiac nursing experience required
• Nursing degree from an accredited school, or from a Florida Board of Nursing (FBON)-approved institution with at least 2 years of recent consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must successfully complete a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks, abuse registry review, and screening for disqualifying offenses

• Pass/fail Basic Arrhythmia (EKG) assessment required; candidates who do not score 100% on lethal rhythms may be required to retake a dysrhythmia exam in Relias within 24 hours and must achieve an overall Angoff score of 83% or greater, 100% on the lethal rhythm section, and 83% on all other sections
• A study guide and tips to help prepare for the arrhythmia assessment are available through the facility's online orientation portal
• 13-week assignment
