The VP of Strategic Planning will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and tracking of strategic business projects. This role will work closely with senior leaders and stakeholders to ensure the scope and direction of each project is on schedule, within budget, and meets the required quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the analytical and research activities supporting Slide's strategic, short-term, and long-range goal planning function.
  • Oversee data collection and conduct organizational reviews to identify Slide's strengths and weaknesses and evaluate operational effectiveness.
  • Lead the research of emerging trends, expansion opportunities, competitive threats, and the viability of outside business partners.
  • Design and execute methods to track and measure organizational performance data to use for planning.
  • Lead, support, and develop the Project Management team, delivering continuous performance feedback and providing opportunities for professional success.
  • Responsible for coordinating internal resources and vendors for the smooth execution of business and strategic projects.
  • Ensure that projects are delivered on time and within the budget and scope.
  • Responsible for the availability and efficient allocation of resources.
  • Responsible for the development of a detailed project plan to monitor the progress of each project.
  • Responsible for developing projects objectives and scopes, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility of the projects.
  • Responsible for managing the changes in project scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Measure project performance using the appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Perform risk management analysis to minimize project risk.
  • Create and maintain project documentation.
  • Develop recommendations for internal business process improvement.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Education, Experience and Licensing Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, insurance, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in personal lines Insurance industry.
  • Minimum 7 years' project management experience required, with a focus on strategic business initiatives.
  • Proven experience analyzing data, identifying trends, and making informed decisions based on findings.
  • Proven leadership experience required.
  • PMP certification preferred.

  • Must be able to identify potential risks that could impact the success of projects and develop strategies to mitigate each risk.
  • Must be able to identify problems quickly and develop effective solutions that meet the needs of all stakeholders for each project.
  • Skilled at bringing a team together to move them in one direction.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills in a results-driven environment.
  • Must be effective at negotiating terms with internal stakeholders and external resources.
  • In-depth knowledge of market research methods and analysis.
  • Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes.
  • Insurance industry awareness partnered with a strategic mindset.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
  • Solid working proficiencies of business operations, procedures, and priorities with a strong ability to support change and impart value within an organization.
  • Proficient in MSO/365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
