This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Apalachee Correctional Institution in the Warden’s Office.
The mission of the administrative assistant in the warden's office is to provide comprehensive administrative support to the warden and other senior staff. This includes managing schedules, handling correspondence, organizing meetings, maintaining records, and ensuring efficient office operations. The administrative assistant plays a crucial role in facilitating communication and coordination within the office, contributing to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the correctional facility's administration.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Be the Warden's Right Hand: Provide crucial administrative support by researching data, preparing reports, and making independent conclusions to aid in decision-making.
- Draft and Review Key Communications: Analyze and prepare drafts of interoffice memos, correspondence, and confidential materials for the Warden's approval.
- Engage with Public and Staff: Interact courteously with the public and staff, respond to inquiries, and interpret rules and policies, ensuring smooth communication within the department.
- Organize and Coordinate Events: Maintain the Warden's calendar, coordinate meetings, conferences, and seminars, and manage scheduling for training and vehicle use.
- Efficiently Manage Correspondence and Reports: Handle daily mail, compile bi-weekly and monthly reports, and ensure accurate and timely communication through phone and written messages.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
