POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is in the Crime Information bureau, reporting to the Seal & Expunge section. Reporting under the direct supervision of the CJIS Manager I, this position is responsible for conducting research of criminal justice information to ensure all information received or disseminated is compliant with state and federal requirements. The incumbent will also be responsible for monitoring the Computerized Criminal History (CCH) workflow and processing tasks within defined timeframes. This position must meet and maintain National Crime Information Center/Florida Crime Information Center (NCIC/FCIC) certification as required and is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of data housed within the department databases.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting legal documents in reference to the expunction or sealing of criminal history records in order to process applications for Certification of Eligibility;
- Maintaining regular contact with local, state, and federal criminal justice, other criminal justice agencies outside the state of Florida, non-criminal justice agencies for the purpose of gathering required documentation to gain clarification as needed for decisions and record modifications;
- Performing additions, deletions, and modifications of criminal history as required or in compliance with court orders;
- Monitoring queue in CCH workflow, selecting tasks to be completed and ensuring completion within defined timeframes;
- Properly routing completed research in the CCH workflow for validations and conducting any follow up research as necessary;
- Remaining knowledgeable about the seal and expunge process and eligibility requirements;
- Drafting written notifications to customers regarding deficiencies in the application;
- Training members on research, analysis, and workflow tasks; and
- Completing assigned special projects according to instructions.

BACKGROUND:
FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants. This information will be utilized to make the final hiring decision.

Preference will be given to current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position.
