Jacob Electric LLC is seeking Apprentice Electricians and Journeyman Electricians for electrical projects in the Ocala and surrounding Central/North Florida area. Work includes new construction wiring, residential electrical service, commercial build-outs, panel upgrades, lighting installations, EV charger installations, troubleshooting, and general electrical maintenance.

This position is a good fit for electricians who are comfortable working on multiple job sites, including homes, small businesses, commercial spaces, and new construction projects. Apprentices will work under supervision while developing field experience. Journeyman electricians will perform independent electrical work, diagnose issues, lead apprentices, and help ensure projects are completed safely and correctly.

This is a field-based position. Job sites may vary by project location, and applicants must be able to travel within the Ocala-area service region.

Wages

T1 Apprentice: $16 – $20/hour

T2 Apprentice: $18 – $22/hour

T3 Apprentice: $20 – $25/hour

T4 Apprentice: $22 – $28/hour

T5 Apprentice: $25 – $31/hour

T6 Apprentice: $28 – $35/hour

Journeyman Electrician: $32 – $42/hour, based on experience

Overtime available. Higher pay may be considered for electricians with strong experience in new construction wiring, panel upgrades, EV chargers, generators, and commercial electrical work.

Responsibilities

Apprentice Electrician

Assist with wiring, rough-in, trim-out, and electrical installations

Pull wire, install boxes, devices, conduit, panels, and fixtures

Support journeyman electricians on residential, commercial, and new construction projects

Learn blueprint reading, electrical layouts, and jobsite procedures

Help with troubleshooting, service work, and material handling

Follow NEC standards, Florida electrical requirements, and safety procedures

Continue developing skills through field training and apprenticeship progression

Journeyman Electrician

Complete electrical installations, repairs, and troubleshooting

Perform rough-in, trim-out, panel changes, service upgrades, lighting work, and equipment connections

Read and follow electrical plans, diagrams, and project specifications

Supervise apprentices and support crew productivity

Communicate with project managers, customers, inspectors, and other trades

Confirm work meets NEC, Florida code, and company quality standards

Keep projects organized, safe, and on schedule

Requirements

Apprentice Electrician

Prior electrical experience preferred but not always required

Apprenticeship enrollment or interest in electrical career advancement

Basic hand tool knowledge

Reliable transportation to job sites

Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

Ability to follow safety procedures and field instructions

Valid driver’s license preferred

Journeyman Electrician

Valid Florida Journeyman license preferred, or equivalent electrical field experience

4–6+ years of residential, commercial, or new construction electrical experience

Strong understanding of NEC and electrical safety requirements

Ability to work independently and solve jobsite issues

Ability to lead apprentices and coordinate daily field tasks

Valid driver’s license

Experience with new construction, service upgrades, EV chargers, or commercial projects is a plus
