Craft a Brew:

Craft a Brew is a craft beer and homebrewing company seeking an ingredient production manager and packing machine operator. We’re looking for a detail oriented, creative problem-solver to join our growing team and spearhead production planning & machine packing of ingredients in our DIY beverage kits (hops, grains, etc.). This job involves planning the ingredient production schedule based on upcoming purchase orders and sales forecasts. It also involves operating our Ingredient packaging machine, packaging a variety of small beer-making ingredients (“subassemblies”).

Position Overview

We’re hiring a Production Manager & Ingredient Packing Machine Operator to lead and improve our in-house ingredient production processes. You’ll be responsible for managing day-to-day production and inventory planning, operating our ingredient packaging machine, and making sure our grains, hops, and other components are efficiently stocked and packed for our popular homebrewing kits.

This is a hands-on, self-directed role ideal for someone who thrives in a small team, loves solving problems, and is always looking for ways to streamline and improve.

What You’ll Do

Production Planning & Inventory Coordination

• Create and manage a weekly ingredient production schedule based on sales forecasts and purchase orders

• Proactively communicate with the Inventory & Purchasing Manager to ensure raw materials (hops, grains, DME, packaging) are ordered in time

• Monitor ingredient levels and subassemblies to ensure stock is always ready for kit assembly

• Anticipate production bottlenecks and propose proactive solutions

Machine Operation & Ingredient Packing

• Operate, clean, and maintain the ingredient packing machine (small-run, precision equipment)

• Prep, weigh, mill, and mix ingredients as needed to create production-ready subassemblies

• Maintain high standards for cleanliness and product consistency

Cross Department Collaboration

• Work closely with production, fulfillment, sales, and leadership teams

• Occasionally assist in final kit assembly or order fulfillment as needed

Process Improvement & Efficiency

• Identify inefficiencies and recommend/implement improvements to the packing or planning workflow

• Create or refine SOPs (standard operating procedures) for machine use, packing, and planning

• Able to manage your own workflow and time without constant oversight

• Comfortable learning and operating machinery (training provided)

• Thrive in a warehouse/production setting and love seeing things run smoothly

• Creative problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset

• Excellent communicator and team collaborator

• Passion for craft beer or brewing is a plus!

Requirements

• Prior experience in production, operations, or warehouse work preferred

• Comfortable using Google Sheets/Excel for planning and tracking

• Able to lift 50 lbs and be on your feet throughout the day

• Mechanical aptitude and interest in how things work (especially machinery) is a plus

• On-site in our ingredient room and open-air warehouse

• Occasional desk work for planning/scheduling
