Accountabilities:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for commercial insurance products, including workers’ compensation, general liability, and commercial auto.
  • Lead complex initiatives across underwriting, pricing strategy, risk assessment, product performance, and compliance across multiple states.
  • Manage key relationships with regulatory bodies, reinsurance partners, and internal stakeholders, presenting insights and product recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Analyze product mix, quote-to-bind ratios, loss ratios, and other key metrics to drive profitable growth.
  • Develop and enhance automated underwriting tools and collaborate with technology teams to integrate policy systems and third-party data sources.
  • Own the process for rate, rule, and form changes; oversee filings and ensure multi-state regulatory compliance.
  • Mentor team members and share knowledge across departments to elevate understanding of commercial insurance fundamentals.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; CPCU or CIC certification preferred.
  • At least 8 years of experience in insurance, with 4+ years specifically in product management.
  • Deep expertise in commercial insurance lines, particularly commercial auto, and a proven track record in underwriting and product development.
  • High-level proficiency in Excel for data analysis; experience with SQL and Snowflake preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently evaluate market opportunities and execute strategic initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance across multiple states.
  • Skilled at influencing cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels, with strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment with high autonomy and complexity.
  • Competitive base salary range: $135,000–$170,000 USD.
