Accounting Assistant
Salary
$50,000 annually
Fully in-office position
Schedule:
Monday – Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Assistant to support daily financial operations in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This role is responsible for processing transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with overall accounting functions.
Responsibilities
Process incoming checks and credit card payments
Enter and post payments into accounting and case management systems
Prepare and process daily bank deposits
Reconcile trust and operating accounts
Perform monthly bank reconciliations
Maintain accurate client ledgers and financial records
Draft and process disbursement letters and checks
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable
Review and verify invoices for accuracy
Support month-end and year-end closing processes
Communicate discrepancies or financial issues to management
Qualifications
2–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience required
Law firm or trust accounting experience preferred
Strong understanding of general accounting principles
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High level of professionalism and confidentiality
