Jr. Product Owner

We’re looking for a Junior Product Owner to join our Technology team and help drive progress on key product features and initiatives. In this role, you’ll work closely with more senior team members and cross-functional partners to manage the product backlog, organize requirements, support internal communication, and help keep the roadmap on track. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their product career who’s eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:


  • Product/Team Knowledge: General understanding of the tech stack and assigned Technology team’s workflow.

  • Backlog Management: Gradually take on responsibility of taking over backlog management through creating and modifying backlog for assigned team(s), ensuring it aligns with priorities set by stakeholders; consultation of individual card prioritization.

  • Card Refinement: Write and refine user stories with clear acceptance criteria.

  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders, end users, and the Technology team(s) to clarify requirements and answer questions.

  • Prioritization: Partner with the Technology team and PMO to determine prioritization of both Epics and Work Cards.

  • Product Roadmap: Partner with the Technology team and PMO to maintain team roadmap that outlines the planned initiatives.

  • Communication: Co-lead stakeholder meetings; gradually moving to leading them independently.

  • Testing and Validation: Where possible, participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure quality and alignment with requirements.

  • Feedback Integration: Gather and document basic customer or user feedback to identify potential product improvements.

  • Driving Meetings: Coordinate and participate in recurring agile meetings (standup and backlog grooming) to ensure board is up to date and the team is collaborating.

  • Agile: Learn and apply Agile methodologies and product management best practices.

  • KPIs: Monitor key performance indicators and provide updates to the Team Leads and PMO Supervisor.

  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives to gain a broader perspective.

Experience & Requirements


  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • Product or Project management experience preferred

  • Merchant services or payments industry experience a plus

  • Basic understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies

  • Good analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills

  • Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced knowledge with Excel, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint

  • Ability to maintain organization while prioritizing responsibilities and workflows

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

  • Aptitude for understanding, interpreting, and analyzing data

  • Willingness to learn and adapt

  • Commitment to continual job-related learning, including company systems and external processing platforms

Reports to: Compliance Manager

Start date: Immediate

Location: Remote

Salary: $65,000-$75,000

Employment type : Full-time; Non-Exempt
