Sr. Product Manager - Lighting (St. Petersburg)
Summary/Objective:
Stinger is looking for a Senior Product Manager – Lighting who is a market‑savvy, hands-on leader who owns Stinger’s lighting portfolio from vision to launch. This role blends technical know‑how with commercial instinct—driving product strategy, shaping go‑to‑market plans, and championing growth. With a strong understanding of lighting harness and bracket layouts for vehicles—and a genuine feel for the off‑road lifestyle—this person will be the go‑to expert for lighting technology and applications. They will guide each product’s journey, ensuring Stinger’s lighting lineup stands out, performs, and leads the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic planning and development of new commercial lighting products and solutions, including defining requirements, collaborating with engineering, and validating products through testing.
- Conduct market, competitive, and technology trend analysis to identify new opportunities within the lighting space.
- Create and maintain product roadmaps and portfolio strategies for all commercial lighting product categories.
- Prepare and maintain product documentation including Technical Requirement Documents (TRDs) and RFQs.
- Lead cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones, quality targets, and launch dates are met.
- Own product positioning, messaging, and the unique selling proposition (USP) for all commercial lighting product lines.
- Develop business plans, launch strategies, pricing input, and portfolio justifications for lighting product categories.
- Collaborate with marketing to ensure brand identity is preserved across collateral, digital content, and customer communications.
- Support creation of sales collateral, training materials, and demonstrations related to lighting products.
- Partner with Commercial Sales and Business Development teams to identify opportunities, forecast sales, and drive profitability across lighting categories.
- Train dealers, distributors, commercial installers, and internal teams on lighting product features, benefits, and applications.
- Represent Stinger at trade shows, dealer events, customer visits, and industry functions.
- Conduct ongoing consumer and commercial channel research to identify unmet needs and inform future product solutions.
- Monitor merchandising, sales trends, competitive activity, and customer behavior to provide insight-driven recommendations.
- Oversees the Lighting NPD roadmap and annual budget, driving investment decisions, cost controls, and resource allocation to maximize ROI.
- Measure and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and ROI for lighting initiatives and marketing campaigns.
- Drive continuous improvement in product quality and consumer experience.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years experience in product management or product marketing within commercial, aftermarket accessories, or lighting industries.
- Strong understanding of lighting harness layouts and bracket layouts for vehicles required.
- Lighting accessory experience strongly preferred.
- PMP certification preferred but not required.
Environmental/Physical Requirements:
- Indoor offices with controlled temperature
- May sit for long periods of time
- Crouching, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing, and lifting occasionally up to 25 lbs.
- Operating computer, telephone, voicemail and other office equipment regularly
Travel: Approximately 25–40% (trade shows, customer visits, facilities, field research)
