The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill an SBA/USDA Closing Specialist role in the Tampa, FL market. The selected candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of SBA 7a/504/Express and USDA loan closings and pre-closing reviews, post-closing review and uploading to software systems.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $80K and an excellent benefits package.

SBA/USDA Closing Specialist responsibilities include:

• Pre-closing package review (include loan officer), loans above $2MM require submission to the closing/loan doc review dept prior to closing.
• Working with Loan Officer/Lender to complete the Closing Checklist, provide “needs list” and schedule a call with Borrower/Guarantors to address issues/concerns/documentation.
• Updating the closing checklist as due diligence items are received/reviews for additional documentation required.
• Engaging closing attorney (and title agent, if RE is included).
• Sending 327 Action if revision of the SBA Authorization is required.
• Funding loan according to the SBA Authorization and Credit Memo.
• Updating nCino file/folder/DocMan, etc to close out the loan in nCino and move to Servicing.
• Sending file to SBA/USDA Portfolio Manager after closing, for initial pre-closing review and post-closing review, and future disbursements.
• Submitting any/all construction documents to the Construction Dept/Plan & Cost Review, and SBA/USDA Construction Monitoring Specialist (Loan Servicing Specialist).
• Engaging construction monitoring vendor.
• Monitoring on-going construction draw requests and change orders.
• Working directly with the SBA/USDA Portfolio Manager to request any changes to the Use of Proceeds, draw requests, overruns, change of ownership, collateral values, etc.
• Ensuring that Loan Covenants are included in the Loan Agreement.
• Preparing internal reports and respond to internal inquiries from Loan Servicing/Loan Operations, booking, accounting, etc.
• Performing lien/UCC searches prior to closing, engage attorney to verify search and perfect liens/UCCs (pre- and post-closing).
• Providing Closing Date & time and Location in order for Loan Officer to attend the closing or Portfolio Manager.
• All other assigned duties.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

• High School Diploma required, some college or degree preferred.
• Three or more years of SBA closing experience.
• Experience and knowledge of SBA 7a/504/Express & USDA/OneRD products & services.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards applicable to USDA & SBA products.
• Two or more years of experience with ETRAN.
• Experience with nCino and Bankway is preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Friendly and professional demeanor.
