DevOps Developer

Purpose/Duties:

Under general supervision and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the DevOps Developer is passionate about solving business problems through innovation and development best practices. You are required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with our stakeholders to meet business goals. This position will be required to maintain a strong working knowledge of development standards and best practices while maintaining awareness of immerging development technologies. Must participate in training annually, or as required for BSA and the Privacy Act

Key Result Areas:

Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

• Analyze and review code for technical accuracy, standards, and functional compliance to the design
• Develop and maintain reusable templates and code to automate solution delivery and deployment processes across multiple cloud providers
• Collaborate with Enterprise architects, security, and SMEs to establish and enforce DevOps standards, best practices, and procedures
• Identify manual processes and procedures to design and implement automation solutions
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including knowledge base articles and best practices
• Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in cloud technologies, evaluate and recommend new tools, services, and methodologies to improve the overall DevOps process
• Contribute to the investigation and help resolve support issues
• Work to tight deadlines concerning project release timelines
• Reliably complete assigned tasks in required time frames
• Participate in critical architecture design and influence on strategic technical directions
• Provide hands-on technical leadership in the development team with the same willingness to learn.
• Assess current state of build, release, testing, integration, and deployment and provide direction on identified gaps
• Drive the development and implementation of highly scalable and available innovative solutions, both individually and as a technical lead.
• Work collaboratively with product owners, and other stakeholders to understand high-level requirements and develop software architecture and design.
• Create and drive the detailed planning, scheduling and execution of development plans to meet business goals and schedules.
• Help define and enforce development practices, including unit tests and code reviews.
• Maintain architectural principals and coding standards across the code and project lifecycles.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot production application issues.
• Promote and drive innovation in technologies, processes, and tools.
• Mentor and develop team members, provide constructive feedback on design and code quality and build an inclusive culture with high performing teams.
• Creating working proof-of-concepts; Recommend new technologies to ensure solution scalability, maintainability and quality
• Provide guidance and direction for continuous development and workflows

What You Bring to the Team:

• Proven experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, CloudFormation; solid experience with Cl/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub, Azure DevOps, etc.)
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of responsibility and authority with poise Strong background in continuous improvement, testing, and delivery.
• 3+ years of experience leading complex software development projects through all phases of the software development life cycle using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Expert knowledge of CI/CD and Agile methodologies
• 3-5 years of experience in designing, developing, delivering, and leading enterprise web and desktop applications using Microsoft Technologies at scale.
• Understanding of software development processes, including building, coding, releasing, testing, deploying, and integrating
• Advanced knowledge and experience in the design and development of relational databases.
• Advanced knowledge of web technologies and protocols ( HTML, JS, etc.)
• Advanced knowledge in implementations of microservices and service-oriented architecture.
• Expertise with the architecture and development of business solutions.
• Technology Stack: .NET Core, ASP.NET, WebAPI, C#
• Technical fluency; comfort discussing or diving deep on technology concepts, options and new opportunities with technical team members.
• Desire to work and experiment with new technologies with a proven track record of quickly learning new technologies
• Ability to debug, analyze and profile existing code
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Data Layer: MS SQL Server, Entity Framework, DB 2

Required Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar field or applicable experience in the industry.

Required Certifications

• PM- Agile Scrum
• SQL Certification( Desired)
