Job Summary

The Assistant Boys Soccer Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of leading the high school boys soccer program. This includes helping develop student-athletes' skills, sportsmanship, teamwork, and character both on and off the field, while ensuring compliance with all school, league, and state athletic regulations.

• Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and conducting practices and games.

• Help develop and implement game strategies, conditioning programs, and skill development drills.

• Promote positive team culture, sportsmanship, and academic success among players.

• Supervise athletes during practices, games, travel, and related activities to ensure safety and discipline.

• Support communication with players, parents, and school administration regarding schedules, expectations, and team updates.

• Assist in managing and maintaining equipment, uniforms, and facilities.

• Attend all required coaches' meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions.

• Help monitor student-athlete eligibility and adherence to academic and behavioral standards.

• Serve as a positive role model representing the school and athletic department.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.

• Previous coaching and/or playing experience in soccer preferred.

• Knowledge of soccer rules, techniques, and strategies.

• Ability to work effectively with high school students and foster a positive learning environment.

• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to model integrity, sportsmanship, and respect.

• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

• Must meet all district and state coaching certification requirements.

• Evening and weekend work required during the soccer season.

• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.

• Travel required for away games and tournaments.

Performance will be evaluated annually by the Head Coach and/or Athletic Director based on adherence to program goals, conduct, and overall contribution to the athletic program.
