Purpose of Position :
The Assistant General Counsel, Employment provides legal support on a wide range of employment and labor‑related matters across the organization, serving as a trusted advisor on labor law matters. This role utilizes expertise in labor law and labor relations, including union organizing, collective bargaining, and labor arbitrations. The position is well‑suited for experienced attorneys who have demonstrated success independently managing complex and confidential legal issues, collaborating effectively with a diverse management team, and providing clear, practical guidance in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily in-house legal advice and counsel regarding employment law, compliance obligations, and risk mitigation. - Handle employment and labor-related legal matters, including litigation, administrative charges, investigations, and agency proceedings.
- Manage, select, and evaluate outside counsel; ensure effective, cost-efficient legal representation. ‑ legal representation.
- Lead strategy and coordinate responses to complaints filed with government agencies (e.g., EEOC, DOL, NLRB) and other pre‑litigation matters.
- Monitor evolving employment laws and regulations; recommend updates to policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Minimum Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- 6+ years of labor and employment law experience, including substantial in-house experience and prior practice at a law firm. ‑ experience and prior practice at a law firm.

- Strong background providing advice and counsel, supporting HR, and managing employment litigation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, practical legal guidance to senior leaders and executives.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to build effective partnerships with stakeholders.
