Respiratory Therapist

SIMEDHealth is seeking a Full-Time Respiratory Therapist to join our Pulmonology team in Gainesville, Florida.

Our Pulmonology Department provides comprehensive respiratory services, and we are looking for a skilled, compassionate professional to support our growing patient population.

Position Summary
The Respiratory Therapist administers pulmonary function testing and provides respiratory-related care as prescribed by a licensed physician. This role works closely with pulmonologists, clinical staff, patients, and families to ensure accurate testing, effective education, and high-quality care.

Minimum Qualifications (Required)

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate’s degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care – OR Certified or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT/RPFT) credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care
• Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) experience, including body box
• Proficiency in computer systems, internet use, and word processing programs

Preferred Qualifications

• 1–2 years of medical office experience
• EMR experience
• Knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, ventilators) and Certificate of Medical Necessity (CMN) documentation

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform pulmonary function testing (including spirometry, flow volume loops, bronchodilator studies, and body box)
• Conduct six-minute walk tests, pulse oximetry, oxygen therapy, and nebulizer treatments
• Educate patients on inhaler technique, pulmonary medications, and oxygen use
• Maintain pulmonary testing equipment and complete test reports
• Support DME processes and documentation as needed
