We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Test Engineer to help us maintain our high standard of quality by employing the latest methods of software testing and quality assurance. At Sherpa 6, test automation is treated as a subset of the larger software development effort, and as such, we are looking for a Test Engineer with solid programming and technical skills to fill this role.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with other engineers to implement, improve, and maintain existing test automation software
• Build and maintain existing DevOps solutions for automated testing
• Perform load and performance testing to ensure scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance
• Participate in product feature discussions and proactively identify areas for testing, and write test cases for those areas
• Evaluate results from automated test runs, and to report bugs based on those results
• Communicate clearly with other software development teams and project managers
• Respond to priority shifts efficiently

Requirements

• You bring a minimum of 2 years of test automation experience.
• Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Information Technology related fields or equivalent work experience
• You are fluent in one or more programming languages (Java, Groovy, JavaScript, Python, etc.).
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GitHub, Bitbucket etc.)
• Experience with mobile device testing (Android, iOS)
• You have used Selenium or Selenium-based tools extensively in the past.
• You have experience with Docker.
• Experience with project management tools (Jira, Rally, etc.)
• You are familiar with continuous integration tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, etc.
• You are comfortable working on Mac and Linux environments; navigating file systems, stopping and starting processes, reading log files, troubleshooting basic system issues
• You hold strong QA skills; testing practices, problem solving
• Experience leading test activities in scrum or agile methodologies
• Strives to become a subject matter expect on the system under test
• Communicates and coordinates with developers to resolve software defects
• Strong team player who thrives in a highly collaborative and cross-function environment with a growth mindset
• Must be a US citizen
• Must pass a background check and drug screening

Salary Range

The proposed salary range is reflective across all Sherpa 6 locations, years of experience, and skill levels. Salary negotiations will be based on a host of factors including but not limited to your geographic location, prior experience, relevant skills, education, and certifications.
