Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate: $21.01 - $24.69 / hour

Summary

The Cardiac Device Specialist Trainee is a person in training for the permanent role of Cardiac Device Specialist I under the guidance of the Manager of Implantable Cardiac Device Services. This position is not considered a permanent position; therefore, persons in this role must complete all required training to become a Cardiac Device Specialist I or his/her employment may be terminated from this position. The Cardiac Device Specialist Trainee must complete all required training provided by the department which could include competency checklists from device clinic rotations, online learning modules, and possible travel to offsite education facilities. The Cardiac Device Specialist Trainee is responsible for learning to perform rhythm interpretation during cardiology procedures, including but not limited to EKG's, Holter Monitors, Holter Scanning and the testing, troubleshooting and programming of implanted cardiac devices. Responsible for providing an excellent patient experience while delivering and documenting team based safe patient care in collaboration with the physician and other care team members.

Additional Requirements

Graduate of a diploma, associates or baccalaureate academic program in a health science (cardiovascular, ultrasound, radiology, nursing, or a formal device management training program) preferred.

Experience Requirements

Additional Requirements

1 year clinical experience in cardiac cath lab or critical care or invasive cardiology practice/clinic preferred.

State of Florida Licensure Requirements

Additional Requirements

Or LPN or RCES preferred.

Certifications/Registration Requirements

Additional Requirements

CCDS through IBHRE preferred, should be willing to obtain within 3 years of hire.

Other Requirements

Must successfully complete and pass all Cardiac Device Specialist training as provided by your department within 9 months of date of hire. Communication and interpersonal skills. EHR proficiency required.
