Position: Commercial Construction Estimator (Only)

Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000 (Full-time)

D.L. Porter’s Superintendent Employment Duties and Responsibilities:

D.L. Porter is seeking a Project Estimator, with experience in examining plans associated with commercial construction. Applicants are asked to prove they are proficient at preparing complete and accurate construction cost estimates. The position’s responsibility includes, but is not limited to, hours of plan and specification review time, the gathering of technical information needed to ensure a clear understanding of the tasks involved is obtained, undertaking how to complete organized quantity takeoffs, soliciting and gathering subcontractor and supplier pricing, organizing the data received so it is clear and shows exactly how the final cost estimate has been arrived at. This person should be familiar with estimating sitework as well as most aspects of the vertical construction, most importantly would be to have the ability to takeoff concrete & masonry, carpentry, doors, frames and hardware, finishes of varying types, etc. Experience in taking off MEP’s is not a requirement of this position, yet it would be helpful. This individual will be required from time to time to meet with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, as well as our company’s management coordination team to review project components and at times involve themself in the preparation of milestone schedules.

Applicants who show proof that they have built and maintained healthy and long-term relationships with their previous employers, vendors, subcontractors, clients and their piers would be considered a plus.

D.L. Porter is seeking an individual with a minimum of 5 years’ estimating experience.

Additional Requirements include:

· Must understand and can operate Windows Office Systems including Excel, Word and Outlook, Bluebeam, etc.

· Experience with using management software systems such as Microsoft Project, ProCore, Sage, Project HG, etc. would be a plus.
