Line Cook
The Golf Club of the Everglades is seeking a skilled, dependable, and detail-oriented Line Cook to join our culinary team immediately. This position plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, consistent, and timely food for our private club membership. The ideal candidate is passionate about cooking, takes pride in plate presentation, works well in a team environment, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-standards kitchen.
Our kitchen focuses on fresh ingredients, refined club classics, creative specials, and elevated event cuisine. This role requires strong organizational skills, a sense of urgency, and a commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:Food Preparation & Execution:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to club recipes and chef specifications.
- Execute dishes with consistency, accuracy, and attention to presentation.
- Maintain proper portion control and plating standards.
- Assist with daily prep lists, butchery, vegetable prep, sauces, and mise en place.
- Cook on assigned station (grill, sauté, pantry, fry, or banquet) during service.
Quality & Consistency:
- Ensure all food leaving the kitchen meets the club’s standards for taste, temperature, and appearance.
- Communicate with the chef and teammates to maintain smooth service.
- Follow all ticket times and maintain strong awareness of order flow.
Kitchen Operations:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation at all times.
- Follow all sanitation, food safety, and HACCP procedures.
- Properly store and label all products using FIFO (First In, First Out) practices.
- Assist with inventory, receiving, and stock rotation as needed.
- Participate in daily and deep-cleaning assignments.
Teamwork & Professionalism:
- Work cooperatively with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully in a high-pressure environment.
- Maintain a positive, professional attitude during all shifts.
- Be flexible and assist in other stations or events as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 1–3 years of line cook experience in a restaurant, hotel, or private club.
- Strong understanding of basic cooking techniques, knife skills, and station organization.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to follow recipes and plating standards precisely.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a private club, resort, or upscale casual dining environment .
- Banquet or event cooking experience.
- Culinary school education or certification.
- ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods (6–10 hours).
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.
Work Schedule:
- Flexible availability required, including:
- Days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Event and banquet shifts.
- Full-time and part-time positions available.
- Immediate start preferred.
