Full-Time Sanibel Harbour Princess Deck Hand

Marriott Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa looking for an experienced Part-Time / Full-Time Deck Hard who can assist with the day-to-day operation of a resort yacht which provides sunset and brunch cruises while maintaining a professional, clean, and well-working yacht environment.

The Deck Hand would be responsible for facilitating the operation of the vessel, ordering necessary supplies as directed by the Captain, and serving hot food/drink hot and cold food/drink cold according to corporate standards while maximizing guest satisfaction. The Deck Hand would be also responsible for assisting with the preparation of the yacht and passing all the tests and requirements of the coast guard, health department, and state.

Our waterfront setting on beautiful San Carlos Bay provides a picturesque backdrop for memorable cruises, both in the morning or at sunset. The Sanibel Harbour Princess, our 100-foot private yacht, hosts a sumptuous feast while touring nearby waterways.

Requirements:
The Deck Hand:

• Handle lines, docking, and gangway operations
• Greet/assist passengers and deliver safety briefings
• Maintain spotless decks and public areas
• Set up/break down for events and cruises
• Stand watch and participate in safety drills
• Light support for galley/service as needed
• USCG Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with Ordinary Seaman endorsement
• TWIC card
• STCW Basic Training
• CPR/First Aid preferred
• Strong customer service skills and professional appearance
• Flexible for evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, stand and walk for long periods of time.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25-50 pounds.
• Physically fit for outdoor work in Florida weather

Communication:

• Excellent English verbal and good written skills required.
• Second language knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Computer Skills:

• Ability to use Microsoft Office programs.
• Ability to use Opentable platform.
