Port Security Officer/ Supervisor (TWIC Card)

Job Title: Port Security Supervisor.
Location: Port of Miami, FL.
Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour.
Schedule: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 2p-10p and Saturday and Sunday (Supervisor only on weekend 1p-9p).

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Port Security Supervisor to oversee security operations at the Port of Miami. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of port facilities, personnel, and assets. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of security protocols and procedures.

Essential Responsibilities:

Supervisory Duties:

• Supervise and direct security personnel during the assigned afternoon shift, including weekends.
• Ensure security officers are adhering to all port security regulations and procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols and inspections of port facilities.
• Monitor security cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems.
• Respond to and manage security incidents and emergencies.
• Prepare incident reports and maintain accurate logs of security activities.
• Provide guidance and training to security officers.
• Ensure proper post coverage, and fill in post when needed.

Security Operations:

• Enforce port security regulations and access control procedures.
• Verify and inspect credentials of personnel and vehicles entering the port.
• Monitor and control access to restricted areas.
• Conduct security checks of vessels and cargo.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services as needed.

Compliance and Documentation:

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local security regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of security activities and incidents.
• Prepare and submit required reports and documentation.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
• Valid Florida Security "D" license.
• Valid Florida Driver's License.
• Own reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to work afternoon shifts, including weekends.
• Proven experience in a security supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of port security procedures and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and make sound decisions.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
