Licensed Structural Engineer
Job description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Licensed Structural Engineer to join a leading engineering team in Florida. This role offers the chance to work on a wide range of projects, from vertical building development to site structures, where your expertise will directly contribute to safe, sustainable, and innovative designs.
As a key member of the engineering team, youll oversee structural analysis, design, and construction support while ensuring compliance with the Florida Building Code and industry best practices. Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze structural systems for buildings and site developments, accounting for gravity, wind, and seismic loads.
 - Prepare and review detailed engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
 - Ensure all projects adhere to the Florida Building Code , Chapter 16 (Structural Design), and applicable industry standards (ASCE 7, etc.).
 - Conduct structural assessments, site inspections, and damage investigations with recommendations for repair or modification.
 - Collaborate with architects, contractors, engineers, clients, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
 - Utilize advanced structural analysis and design software (AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, SAFE, SAP, RISA).
 - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering growth and development.
 - Manage project scope, schedules, and budgets in coordination with project managers and senior leadership.
 - Support business development by preparing proposals, estimates, and technical recommendations.
 - Stay current with building codes, regulations, and emerging best practices in structural engineering.
 
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Active Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license in Structural Engineering (required).
 - Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
 - 5+ years of experience in structural design and engineering, with a portfolio of diverse building/site projects.
 - Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software (ETABS, SAFE, SAP, RISA).
 - Strong knowledge of structural analysis principles and Florida Building Codes.
 - Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
 - Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
 
Desired (Optional) Qualities
- Structural Engineering Certification (SEC) or other postgraduate qualifications.
 - Experience with construction-phase services (field reviews, RFIs, submittal reviews, etc.).
 - Proven leadership in managing projects, clients, and cross-disciplinary teams.
