Project Engineer
Job Summary
A Project Engineer opportunity is available in Daytona Beach, FL with a leading and well-established engineering firm serving the fast-growing coastal building structural restoration and weatherproofing market. This direct hire role is ideal for an engineering professional who enjoys a balanced mix of field work, client interaction, technical evaluation, budgeting, bid support, and construction project oversight. The Project Engineer will support building assessment condition surveys, develop building condition reports and budgets, assist building owners with technical questions and decision-making, coordinate competitive contractor bid processes, and oversee construction projects from planning through completion. This role supports projects from New Smyrna Beach to Jacksonville and offers exposure to a variety of building systems, restoration scopes, and coastal construction challenges. Key Responsibilities - Conduct building condition assessments, field inspections, and surveys for coastal structural restoration and weatherproofing projects.- Prepare building condition reports, budget estimates, project options, and technical recommendations for building owners and stakeholders.
- Develop bid packages, coordinate competitive contractor bid processes, and help minimize project unknowns through clear documentation.
- Manage construction project oversight, contractor coordination, project budgets, and progress tracking to support successful outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal team members, clients, and contractors to achieve project objectives and maintain high industry standards.
- Support business development efforts by assisting with new project opportunities and maintaining long-term client and contractor relationships. Compensation and Benefits - Direct hire opportunity.
- Salary range of $90,000 to $120,000 per year, based on experience.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Conduct building assessment condition surveys and prepare building condition reports.- Develop project budgets, bid packages, and practical restoration project options.
- Coordinate with building owners, clients, contractors, and internal project teams.
- Provide construction project management, oversight, and budget tracking. - 3 to 5 years of relevant engineering, project engineering, restoration, construction, or related experience preferred.
- Experience with building inspections, structural restoration, waterproofing, roofing, coatings, or related building envelope work.
- Understanding of concrete building systems such as prestressed/precast, conventional cast-in-place, and post-tensioned concrete is beneficial.
- Ability to evaluate repair scopes involving structural repairs, coatings, waterproofing, doors and windows, railings, and roofing.
- Proficiency or working knowledge of relevant software such as AutoCAD, BlueBeam, Microsoft Office Suite, DropBox, OneDrive, QuickBase, and FastField.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with building owners, contractors, and project teams.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing office work, field inspections, reporting, and project oversight responsibilities. Preferred Qualifications - Florida PE license strongly preferred.
- EI status with a clear path toward near-term Florida PE licensure will be considered.
- Experience in coastal building restoration, waterproofing, roofing, or building envelope consulting.
- Experience preparing accurate budget estimates and contractor bid packages.
- Interest in developing specialized expertise within the coastal structural restoration and weatherproofing industry.
