Chicago Nursing Job Details

• Location: Chicago, IL 60657 (Lakeview)
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiac Cath Lab (3-bed procedure labs)
• Employment Type: Travel RN (locum tenens)
• Start Date: September 29, 2025
• End Date: December 27, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Nursing Shift: 10-hour day shifts
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,750 - $2,820
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Charting System: EPIC

Cath Lab RN Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as an Invasive Cath Lab Registered Nurse
• Active Illinois RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Expertise in cardiac cath procedures: Impella, aortic balloon pump, arterial lines, cardiac cath scrub experience
• Experience with advanced cardiac technologies: Laser lead extraction, Rotoblator, FFR, IVUS, IABP, EKOS, pacemaker, scrub and pan table, medrad, groin site management and monitoring
• Proficiency with EPIC charting, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Philips telemetry monitoring

Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care for diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
• Monitor and manage patients during procedures such as LHC/RCH, NSTEMI/STEMI, Impella, IABPs, Rotoblator, CTOs/staged PCI, shockwave, temp pacers, peripheral interventions, and loop recorders
• Assist with electrophysiology (EP) procedures: Micra, pacemaker, AICDs, lead extractions/revisions, generator changes
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including charge nurse, hospitalist/physician, and support staff
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC and ensure safe medication administration via Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis
• Participate in a 1-day orientation and follow facility protocols, including use of procedural scrubs provided by the facility
