Job Summary:

The Delivery Driver will move parts, goods, and other merchandise from one location to another. This position will regularly be assigned warehouse duties as described below.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Plans and completes an efficient delivery and pick-up route for the day.
• Loads delivery vehicle with parcels scheduled for delivery.
• Delivers parcels to correct addresses, obtaining signatures and proof of receipt when necessary.
• Picks up parcels along the scheduled route, including items to be returned, company orders, and other items as requested.
• Maintains basic records of truck mileage and deliveries made.
• Ensures that the delivery vehicle receives basic service according to the maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to the supervisor.
• Obtain and process product orders, including receiving deliveries, registering them, and distributing merchandise and equipment within the warehouse
• Load and unload trucks, breakdown, sort, and restack product, lifting items as necessary, occasionally operating forklifts and pallet jacks for large goods.
• Regular use of basic hand tools, straps, and box cutters
• Trouble shoots shipping issues and customer complaints that arise, and works to solve them
• Pull orders using RF scanners, ensuring the orders are correct, and load the trucks before the cutoff time
• Perform daily housekeeping – Sweeping – Cleaning – Dusting
• Assists in general warehouse duties when the delivery route is completed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to drive safely.
• Ability to operate Large box trucks, forklifts, and other heavy machinery.
• Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
• Ability to plan delivery routes.
• Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
• Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.
• Able to remain professional and courteous at all times.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

• Forklift certification or experience is a plus
• Knowledge of HVAC products is a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently lift up to 50 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to load and unload packages with and without dollies in various types of weather.
• Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
• Having a good sense of balance
• Having good eye-hand-foot coordination

Work Environment

This job operates in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse environment. These conditions can range from hot to cold extremes. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving machinery, and regular use of ladders is required to complete assigned work.
