Core Responsibilities
- Financial Record-Keeping : Maintain accurate journals of all revenues and disbursements, including general funds and restricted accounts for clubs or student organizations.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable : Process purchase orders, pay school bills, and manage vendor requests for payment while ensuring price accuracy and fund availability.
- Monetary Management : Collect and receipt all monies (e.g., student fees, ticket sales, fundraisers, donations) and prepare regular bank deposits.
- Compliance & Auditing : Ensure all practices adhere to the Tennessee Internal School Uniform Accounting Policy Manual and district policies. Provide all necessary documentation for annual audits.
- Reporting : Prepare monthly balance sheets, reconciliation reports, and year-end financial statements for the principal and Central Office Finance Department.
- Administrative Support : Assist the principal with budget development and monitoring, and occasionally serve as back-up for other office staff or administer basic first aid if needed.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education : Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; some districts prefer post-secondary education or training in accounting.
- Skills : Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Skyward, LINQ), Microsoft Excel, and standard office equipment.
