ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY : The Student Success division at the University of South Florida, is comprised of 60 departments, providing students with academic support, engagement opportunities, health & wellness services and enhancement of the educational experience. University Scholarships and Financial Aid Services is responsible for coordinating and administering all student financial assistance awarded to USF students, in compliance with Federal, State, and Institutional regulations and guidelines. The office is the main point of contact for all financial aid program information for current and prospective students and parents. The office is responsible for coordinating and managing the awarding and disbursement of over $500 million in financial aid funds on an annual basis; interpreting changes to federal, state and institutional regulations and translating the effect/impact to students and parents in a manner they can understand, particularly first generation students; providing an array of financial aid support options for students and their families; and providing oversight to monitor the entire process to ensure institutional compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. POSITION SUMMARY : This position is responsible for providing financial education outreach to undergraduate students training and evaluating peer student educators. This position requires extensive contact with undergraduate students through training programs, in-person presentations, and one on-one financial education programs. This position works on behalf of undergraduate students while fulfilling the goals of the Office of Financial Aid and USF. RESPONSIBILITIES : Develop, coordinate, and conduct financial education programs to help undergraduate students make informed decisions in regard to student loans and personal money management. Includes oversight of program communications and social media platforms. Recruit, hire, train, supervise and evaluate peer financial educators on a semesterly/annual basis. Prepare evaluation forms and reports for peer financial education initiatives and maintain accurate records. Determine appropriate assessments and interventions necessary to assist undergraduate students. Analyze and interpret peer-to-peer financial education program assessment results and incorporate the results in improving the program. Provide other counseling and administrative support as required to accomplish the mission and goals of the Office of Financial Aid. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Higher Education, Administration, or appropriate field with a minimum of one year of experience in advising, financial aid administration or related academic functions within higher education. PREFERRED : Master's degree with one year Title IV/Financial Aid experience and/or experience in credit counseling, debt management, or financial planning; one year of supervisory experience.
