Commercial Lines Insurance Client Advisor
Job Summary
The Commercial Insurance Client Advisor will work closely with the Commercial Lines department—including the sales, underwriting, and management teams—to ensure comprehensive protection for our clients’ business assets. This role involves managing a book of business, maintaining strong client relationships, and delivering high-quality service that focuses on value and coverage rather than price alone.
Responsibilities
Manage and maintain a book of commercial insurance clients, building trusted relationships and ensuring all account activities are completed efficiently and accurately.
Assist clients with policy changes, renewals, and claims support.
Educate clients on the agency’s value proposition, emphasizing risk management and comprehensive coverage rather than pricing alone.
Conduct annual or periodic coverage and exposure reviews to ensure clients are adequately protected in the event of a loss.
Reach out to new commercial clients within 30-45 days of policy inception to introduce yourself, address any issues, and confirm preferred methods of communication.
Monitor and review potential non-renewal issues; work with carriers to explore options such as reinstatement or rewriting coverage.
Quote and issue mid-term policy changes or rewrites due to business growth or changes in exposure.
Review significant renewal premium increases and engage with carriers to explore rate relief or alternative marketing options, in collaboration with the Placement Specialist team.
Contact clients who have canceled or intend to cancel their policies to understand their reasons, provide solutions, and potentially earn back their business.
Communicate directly with commercial underwriters to resolve account issues and maintain insurability for clients.
Thoroughly document all client and carrier interactions in the agency management system to ensure full transparency and team support capability.
Consistently update client contact information, including primary contact, email address, and preferred phone number.
Counsel clients on preferred premium payment methods (e.g., EFT, recurring card payments, paid-in-full).
Confirm that appropriate tasks are created in the system for timely and accurate servicing, and follow up until fully resolved.
Maintain working knowledge of regulations, such as workers’ compensation compliance, DOT requirements, or industry-specific insurance mandates, depending on client needs.
Meet established performance metrics related to servicing, referrals, communication, and quality standards.
Provide backup support to Commercial Lines Assistants when necessary, including generating certificates of insurance, ID cards, binders, and processing payments.
