SENIOR UTILITY COORDINATOR - ORLANDO
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Identifying existing utilities
- Reading plans and acting as liaison between designers, utility agency owners (UAOs), and clients
- Assisting UAOs in completion of work schedules (UWS) and utility agreements
- Conducting utility coordination meetings, documenting meeting minutes, and maintaining files of all activities for each utility agency
- Preparing Utility Work by Highway Contractor packages (UWHC)
- Reviewing plans and estimates to evaluate compliance with federal, state, and/or local requirements.
- Scheduling and attending office, field, and Teams meetings with UAOs
- Handling multiple projects on tight design and construction schedules
- Seeking creative solutions to resolving utility conflicts
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years’ experience in Utility Coordination with the DOT
- Familiarity with FDOT, FHWA, AASHTO standards, policies, procedures, and design criteria
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to coordinate effectively with FDOT staff, design engineers, and construction managers
- Ability to maintain functional working relationships with utility owners and their contractors; exercise judgment; and facilitate appropriate solutions to issues that arise
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to prioritize projects and tasks to ensure schedule deadlines are met
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to work seamlessly with the project team at all levels
