Duties and Responsibilities
Thispositionisin theBureauof Records and works daily with driver records. Theincumbent is responsible for reviewingthe transcripts of driver historyandnegative filmphotographs. Thisposition will examine driver licenses and identification card applications for complete and accurate driving records and exercise independent judgment in determining whenit isappropriateto combine, separate or correct driverrecords. Theincumbent will utilize apersonal computer to research and review source documents to determine if the data is sufficient and accurate before data entry. This position corresponds with drivers regarding errors and discrepancies when licenses and identification cards are considered ineligible because of open dates requiring reinstatement.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of rules, regulations and policiesand how to interpret and apply them. Knowledge of basic filing practices.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel. Ability to read and comprehend materials.
- Ability to follow written andoralinstructions.
- Ability to operate office equipment (personal computer, microfiche viewer, copier and multi line telephone).
- Ability to research and review data andinformation for accuracy and completion.
- Ability to perform data entry usingelectronic spreadsheets and databases. Knowledge of customer service practices and techniques.
- Ability to maintain and protect confidential information.
- Skill in writing and reviewing general correspondence such as letters, memos and reports.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
- Working with Microsoft Word andExcel.
- Providing clerical support or customer service.
- Composing correspondence,memos and/or form letters. Reviewing and verifying information foraccuracy.
General Information
- The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
- Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
- FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
