Quality Engineer

Certain positions at EnerSys Advanced Systems require access to information or technology that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and other U.S. government security regulations. Candidates for these positions should be a “U.S. Person” under ITAR (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or a refugee/asylee) and/or otherwise comply with ITAR requirements for access rights to be considered for a position.

Job Purpose
The Quality Engineer I performs activities that ensure customer contractual compliance, continual quality improvements to products, services, and systems; and corporate compliance to ISO9001/AS9100. Activities are focused around assuring product is compliant and customer expectations are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Technical unbiased voice to and from the customer regarding Quality matters and expectations with support from QE II or the Quality Manager
- Responsible for FAI, customer and government source inspections
- Creating product and process quality plans
- Determines the controls on production devices directly affecting the quality of the product
- Review changes to the product, processes and materials
- Reviews Drawings (that include GD&T) and process instructions for accuracy, risk and completeness
- Assist/resolve Quality in-process issues
- Monitors product/process performance for trends in efforts to prevent the generation of defective material or opportunities for improvement
- Supports internal and external quality and or process audits
Qualifications
- B.S. degree in engineering or equivalent or 2 years’ experience in the field of Quality (ASQ certifications are a plus).
- Familiar with ISO9001 Quality Management System standard (AS9100 is a plus)
- Adept with standard measuring equipment.
- Basic understanding of statistics.
- Strong communication skills
- Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office
